This sculpture comprises layers of carved teak stacked up high. Each layer builds harmoniously upon the strength of the layers below, enhancing the stability and artistic form of sculpture.

The elegant curves within each unique layer allow natural light to shine through from multiple angles, thus creating interesting forms. The soft flowing design juxtaposed with the solid ends of each layer evokes a sense of vibrancy within a well-defined structure.

The sculpture represents today’s corporate world where a dynamic workforce teams up at all levels to create value and make a difference. Organisational excellence is achieved within a well-established framework of corporate governance.

Pioneering the Next Generation

BUDAK-BUDAK is a life-sized bronze sculpture depicting four energetic budak-budak (“Children” in Malay) playing together. Three of them are pushing and hoisting their friend onto an enormous kamcheng (“Covered container” in Hokkien). The children, with their boundless energy, represent the trailblazers of the next generation.

A kamcheng is a traditional Peranakan covered porcelain jar used to store food. It symbolizes wisdom, and culture and assets and often serves as a precious family heirloom which is handed down from generation to generation.
